Classes
I offer personalized French classes in very small groups (3-4 people), for people who want to speak French with confidence. I’ll help you pronounce clearly, say what you mean, understand, and be understood!
- Registration for January 2009: Please let me know if you’re interested in joining a group. There may be space in some groups for one more person, and I may add one or two new groups, depending on demand. If your schedule doesn’t fit, or the group that best suits you is full, you can put your name on a waiting list.
- Schedule: There are currently three groups (Monday evening, Tuesday afternoon, and Thursday evening), and the schedule has been set according to participants’ availability. Classes are ongoing, which means you can sign up for another 5 weeks afterwards. New groups may be added in January.
- Cost: $100 for 5 weeks, with one 2-hour class per week (or 1.5 hour/class, 6 weeks). The cost includes everything - no hidden fees!
- Syllabus: I design the syllabus based on each group’s participants’ levels and needs, always with an emphasis on oral communication skills. Everything can be customized to your needs!
What level are you?
- Lower intermediate: You have learned French for some time but putting sentences together is still difficult and slow. You need to review the basics and become comfortable using them. Understanding native French speakers is very difficult.
- Higher intermediate: You’ve taken several French courses and have a pretty good grasp on basic French grammar. You can express yourself, but wish for more fluency. You can understand native speakers when they don’t speak too fast.
- Advanced: You’ve taken French immersion or lived in a French-speaking place or taken quite a few French courses. You have a firm grasp on basic French grammar and are pretty comfortable speaking in French, but need more confidence doing so. You can understand native French speakers in normal conversation.
